A Wooden Centre Stump (also commonly known as a Gravel Board Stump or Support Peg) is a small but vital component used to provide vertical support to the middle of a horizontal gravel board.
While the ends of your gravel board are secured to the fence posts using cleats, the "mid-span" of a standard 1.8m (6ft) to 3.0m (10ft) board is prone to sagging or warping over time. That is where the centre stump comes in.
